Another successful PAX East has come and gone and it certainly was a big one for Gearbox! Gearbox Publishing was proud to be in attendance and showing off Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, as well as catching up with the community through the Inside Gearbox Main Theater Show on Sunday morning.
The Bulletstorm booth was busy and active all weekend long as people filed through to be among the first to play Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition as Duke Nukem. PAX-goers were treated to Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour, as well as the chance to sow destruction in the new Overkill campaign mode (in which all weapons and skillshots are unlocked from the start). which is free when you pre-order (along with a sweet 15% discount), and the response was very positive!
Also at the Bulletstorm booth was the $10k Skillshot Showdown — a competition that sought to find the player with the highest overall score on the Echo mode map “Waterways”. Over the weekend, competitors battled it out while shoutcasters Pancake Pow and Shidosha called the action alongside Gearbox developers. When the dust settled, Ryon “Honzo” Lee was the victor with a whopping score of over 22,000 points!
On Sunday morning, we held the Inside Gearbox Main Theater Show in the Main Theater to a crowd that numbered in the thousands! Moderator and New Media Manager Elisa Melendez was joined by Gearbox President and CEO Randy Pitchford, Chief Creative Champion Mikey Neumann, Battleborn Creative Director Randy Varnell, and Gearbox Head of Publishing Steve Gibson to update fans on the latest happenings. As always, the Main Theater Show had a few surprises, guests, and of course, some magic! It was a great show and a perfect way to start off the final day of PAX East 2017! If you weren’t able to be there in person or missed the livestream, the panel is viewable on our YouTube channel.
Between the energy of the Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition booth, the excitement of the Inside Gearbox Panel, some amazing cosplay meet-ups, and just generally getting to catch up with our amazing community, there’s no doubt that PAX East 2017 was a huge success!
